Story
For 10 years, Climbing Out has run 5 day outdoor activity programmes in the UK for young people facing the consequences of life changing illness, injury or trauma. For many participants, along with membership of the peer support group, The Climbing Out Club, this has been the start of a new journey.
-I've always been told I can't do so many things because of my condition. Climbing Out has shown me that I can. I so appreciate and value that independence and freedom. I'm going to be making some big changes to my life.- Emma
Now, Climbing Out would like to offer a group of individuals the chance to challenge themselves at a new level by participating in a Level 3 expedition to Anglesey.
This will allow them to further develop their confidence, their bonds with their peer support and their sense of what they are really capable of.
-This week has shown me that I am not my illness and my illness doesn't have to define or control me. It's shown me that I still have a life and I can still live it to the fullest -Charlotte
Participants have been asked to fundraise for the expedition. In this way they can help themselves and others along the way. Fundraising takes organisation, courage and determination, just like any other challenge. We hope you will support them. Thank you.
