Swansea City AFC Foundation is proud to announce their involvement in the Street Child World Cup taking place in the USA. We will be the first organisation to represent Wales and will join an additional 24 countries from across the globe. 10 street-connected young people from across Swansea will participate in the fifth edition of the Street Child World Cup in 2026.
Street Child United (SCU) is a global movement that uses the power of sport, art, and advocacy to challenge the stigma faced by street-connected children and fight for their rights. The charity shines a spotlight on children living in street situations, the adversities they face and the fundamental rights they lack. SCU advocate for core demands: identity, protection from violence, gender equality and access to education.
Ahead of each FIFA World Cup, SCU connects street children from across the world to play football, take part in a festival of arts and participate in child-friendly Congress sessions, all designed to empower and champion their rights.
“We’re extremely excited to be involved in such an incredible opportunity. This will be a once in a lifetime experience for young people and the impact will extend far beyond the tournament. The Street Child World Cup is a shining example of how football can be used as a tool to engage, educate and empower young people, which is something we constantly strive to do as a Foundation”.

“The Street Child World Cup is the ‘World Cup That Matters’. It matters because we are uniting nations to ensure no child is left invisible. It’s more than a tournament – it is a call to action, amplifying the voices of street-connected children. The Street Child World Cup events have a life-changing impact on participants, who will build confidence, make lifelong friendships and develop leadership skills to drive change in their communities.”
