Sustain food Bank at Tonbridge Baptist Church is currently offering food support to around 85 local families a week. These families are referred to us by local front line agencies (predominantly local primary schools). Our guests are able to collect a weekly food parcel from us containing stock cupboard items along with any surplus fresh items that we receive from local supermarkets. It costs around £1,500 a week to keep our food bank stocked and we are reliant on community support.
At Christmas we strive to offer those families in need a little more help and a Christmas treat so just like last year we hope to be able to offer those referred to us a £20 Iceland shopping voucher and some festive chocolates. We have chosen Iceland as there are 2 easily accessible branches in town and they represent good value for money. The recipients can then choose whether they use the voucher to buy festive foods or to buy groceries (they cannot purchase alcohol). Please click here for a filmed explanation from our Community Lead.
Any donation no matter what size is enormously appreciated. We will as always be receiving referrals from local front-line agencies for these gifts and hope to be able to make 300 local families' Christmas just a little bit better. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email emma.lander@tonbridgebaptist.church.
Thank you for your support!
