Story
Grass sickness is a deadly disease, which is fatal in 80% of cases. Horses and ponies who survive longer than a week are classed as chronic grass sickness, and some of these can survive with intensive nursing. This is a labour of love, involving frequent feeding, day and night, with no guarantee of success. The welfare of the horse or pony is of paramount importance, and owners will work alongside their vets throughout this journey.
At our Survivors Parade we will be showcasing some of these precious survivors, and remembering those who were sadly lost to the disease.
Please give generously to help us discover the cause of the disease, a means of prevention, and to improve the treatment of chronic cases.
