Support weekly deliveries of food and supplies to youth and families we serve by donating and/or becoming a fundraiser during our "Support Youth No Matter What" campaign. All donations will be matched up to $25,000.

A message from our Executive Director, Kim Hatfield:

I have spent the last three weeks working with the Central Oregon team to assess the needs of our families. While we were able to meet all immediate requests, we know they will only expand as time goes on. The Friends (professional mentors) have spent countless hours via phone, video chat and sometimes through a window ensuring the children in our program receive the necessities for survival. Numerous volunteers have stepped up to donate, sanitize, shop, sort, pack and deliver food, water, gas, and academic materials. Last Friday, I set out to deliver academic activity kits in Bend, Redmond, Prineville, Terrebonne and Culver. Dropping bags on doorsteps and waving at families through closed doors and windows almost broke my heart. On one of my last deliveries, I climbed three flights of stairs, dropped of the loaded bag and climbed back down. As I was getting into my car, I hear this little voice say thank you! I looked up and there was the sweetest little face staring down at me with the biggest smile and her bag in hand. I said We miss you and she said I miss you too and blew me kiss. My heart danced. This precious babe is living with family members while her parents sort out some difficult situations. Her life is so unpredictable, but the one thing she knows for sure is all of us at Friends of the Children are here for her NO MATTER WHAT!
