Story
Help support the work of the Deafness Resource Centre working with D/deaf people across Merseyside. We are a small charity making a huge impact, we provide a huge range of services and with your kind donations we can continue, improve and expand these services to ensure we reach and support those who need it.
We provide a range of services such as:
- A dedicated Children and family team: working to support children, young people and families when they need it most offering support individuals and families to increase Independence, Improve Communication, build Confidence.
- Advocacy service: supporting D/deaf people to express their views and wishes, secure their rights, have their interests represented, and access information and services.
- Equipment service: providing D/Deaf people living in St Helens, Halton & Knowsley with a range of different equipment allowing people to live more independently in their homes, at work or on the move.
- Interpretation & communication: Under the Equality Act 2010 deaf people have the right to access services equally to someone who is hearing. The Deafness Resource Centre can provide BSL/English Interpreters, Lip speakers, Deafblind Interpreters, Speech to text reporters (Palantypists), Notetakers.
- Outreach services: The aim of our Outreach Service is to ensure that D/deaf people and their families and carers have access to services and information, and to provide support to organisations.
