The loneliness is something we have all suffered from particularly in the last two years and has a direct effect on everybody's mental health. Three out of four GPs say they see up to 5 people per week mainly because they are lonely. Weak social interaction can reduce life expectancy as much as smoking 15 cigarettes per day!
Our frontline services are struggling to keep up with the post pandemic increase in people suffering from mental ill health. For every £50 raised Kaleidoscope can provide counselling and support to someone suffering from mental ill health.
This May is both national UK walking month and mental health awareness week 9-15th of May. This years theme is loneliness.
