Story

2024 Highlights

It has been an exciting year of growth at A Red Circle! Here are a few developments we are most proud of bringing to North St. Louis County.

1. The Little Red Farmhouse opened at the North County Agricultural Education Center!

The new home for the Community Wellness team is equipped to provide hands-on classes, including breadmaking and canning, to the community!

2. Sundae Stories was launched to help fight the summer slide and encourage a lifelong love of reading!

Every Sunday afternoon throughout June and July, families joined A Red Circle staff and volunteers for story hour and ice cream treats at Heaven's Creamery. Each week, children received a new book to add to their personal library.

3. A new demonstration garden was built at the North County Community Nexus!

It was a labor of love for A Red Circle staff and volunteers to build a new community demonstration garden at the corner of Lewis & Clark Blvd. and Jennings Station Rd. The first summer of production included watermelons, cucumbers, and more.

4. The People's Harvest Grocery Store Pop-ups launched at the Ferguson Farmer's Market!

People's Harvest Grocery Store quickly became a fan favorite at the weekly farmer's market, offering fresh produce and a selection of meats and cheeses. Staff spoke with shoppers about their ideas for the upcoming brick-and-mortar store opening in 2026.

5. The Arts Department is finishing work on their new home, The Creative Spot!

Located in Ferguson, The Creative Spot provides a permanent home for A Red Circle's arts programs. From the popular Drumming 4 Peace summer camp experience to group rehearsal space, The Creative Spot will be a community location for those who wish to explore their creative and artistic side. A Grand Opening Celebration is planned for February 2025.

We can do much more to bring vitality to North St. Louis County in 2025. Your support allows us to continue building healthy food access, education resources, and artistic opportunities for residents. We can't do this work without you!
