Story
Its been almost two years since COVID-19 upended our lives. At Albertina Kerr, we continue to see the devastating effects from coronavirus-related stressnot only in the lives of the vulnerable children, teens, and adults we help, but also the toll it is taking on our dedicated staff.
While we are doing everything we can to respond to the increased urgent need for our life-saving services, a new crisis has emerged. Across the country, theres a significant shortage of experienced caregivers and qualified mental health professionals. This dearth of talent is also impacting Kerr. So many healthcare workers, who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, are feeling burned out.
We are confident in our ability and know that with support from our community - from people like you - we can overcome this challenge and help many more children, teens and adults to survive and thrive.
"Where we are as a family and where my daughter is in her mental health journey would not have been possible without Kerr. Through the therapy, there was this major sense of relief - there's hope - we need to do whatever we can to make sure this service stays alive and well in the community." Parent of recent Kerr Children's Mental Health program client
