Fund a Family Support worker for children bereaved by suicide in Gloucestershire

We're on a mission to fund a critical role for children and families impacted by suicide bereavement in our community. Help us reach our goal of £150,000 by 1st April 2026 to fund a Family Support Worker for the next 5 years.

Closes 16/04/2026

Sunflowers was created in memory of Pete Morris who died by suicide in 2016. His family developed the Charity to walk alongside others bereaved by suicide and to be a small ray of light in the darkness; offering others comfort and support that is so desperately needed at such a difficult time. Sunflowers endeavour to provide other families with practical and professional support so they do not feel overwhelmed and alone. This we hope will give a glimmer of hope for the future. Sunflowers also raise awareness around mental health and suicide both on social media and by networking locally and nationally. We deliver accredited training to the wider community and presentations sharing our story. We highlight that it is Okay to not be ‘Okay’ and the importance of talking and of course listening. We feel that everyone can play a small part in connecting with and helping others to feel less alone.

Story

The harsh reality: When a child loses someone to suicide, they often face this devastating journey alone. Our Family Support Worker provides immediate and ongoing support during the darkest moments imaginable.

Your donation will directly fund:

.Bespoke 1-2-1 sessions for children, parents, and families

.Offer ongoing care and guidance through the grief process

.Connect children and families with vital resources and community services

.Reduce isolation and prevent further tragedies

Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to ensuring no child in Gloucestershire has to face suicide bereavement without support.

Together, we can bring light to those children facing unimaginable darkness.
