Story
Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland are working with our partner Lakeland Mountain Guides to bring you this fantastic opportunity. A chance to sign up for the challenge of a lifetime and raise funds for your local Hospice at Home charity. We encourage our community to support this important fundraising event on our 2023 calendar.
The Challenge
Miles: 7 Peaks: 1 Duration: 6 Hours
Join us on the evening of 18th August 2023 to take part in our guided walk of Blencathra. Once at the summit well watch the sun set, then descend under darkness, all under the guidance of Lakeland Mountain Guides.
Chasing sunrises or sunsets, although not always fruitful, are an excellent way to enhance your mountain adventures. This guided walk will take you to the lofty summit of Blencathra where youll enjoy the golden sunset, before positioning your head torch in preparation for the descent under darkness.
The sunset (approx. 8.30pm) will be a time to reflect and take pride in the accomplishment, taking in the magical picturesque views of the Lake District. Once the sun disappears below the horizon, walkers will be guided down the peak, descending via Blease Fell.
