Story
Join thousands of runners uniting together to help raise incredible funds to help beat cancer sooner at the first ever Cancer Research UK London Summer Run on 5th September 2021.
Cancer Research UK funds around 50% of all cancer research here in the UK. But COVID-19 is threatening to severely impact cancer research and make Cancer Research UK's ambition of improving cancer survival to 3 in 4 by 2034 more difficult.
Cancer Research UK are absolutely determined to continue its life-saving research. But to save lives tomorrow, they need your help today. By supporting the Cancer Research UK London Summer Run you'll be helping to fund vital research and together, we will still beat cancer.
What does your donation mean for Cancer Research UK?
£15 covers the cost of running Cancer Chat for 1 hour. As a safe online space, Cancer Chat can be a vital lifeline to patients and their families, who may feel isolated or overwhelmed, or who simply need to speak to someone who understands what they're going through.
£40 could pay for a patients cancer biopsy where a tiny amount of tumour is removed with a needle to be studied in the lab.
£200 could help to fund Cancer Research UK's team of 10 cancer nurses, who offer confidential support and expert guidance to people affected by cancer. The nurses are available every weekday and are happy to answer any questions or concerns about a cancer diagnosis, symptoms or treatment options.
These are just a few examples of the impact your donation could have. However you choose to support Cancer Research UK, thank you for helping to bring forward to day when all cancers are cured.
