Story
The time to help us is now! Please donate to preserve the future.
Funds raised through this campaign will go towards the core and set up, running and programme costs, needed to help transition the current visual art and Fringe performance programmes to Summerhall Arts - an independent charity set up in 2023 to support the sector – as well as to deliver an ambitious and diverse programme of development opportunities for Edinburgh and Scotland-based artists.
Funds raised will help fuel and run the lifeboat until more regular funding and income through activities can be generated.
Summerhall Arts are delighted to be able to say that they are in the final stages of agreeing terms on a three-year lease that will mean they are able to realise both this year’s Fringe programme as well as artistic development opportunities.
Summerhall Arts, an independent registered charity, was set up at the start of 2023 in order to deliver an ambitious programme of professional development and artist support for the sector. As well as delivering an annual Visual Arts programme, it will now be able to now take on a wider and bigger remit - so it will now also take on the responsibility for delivering the acclaimed Fringe Festival programme.
‘Summerhall is an important part of the cultural landscape in the city and it is vital that it remains, we are humbled by the support shown from the community, we have been waiting for a moment to ask for your help, now for the first time we have a way to channel that support and directly help Summerhall preserve its future.
We will need your support to secure this future. Please help us by donating what you can to enable the year-round provision of arts, culture and community activity.’ Sam Gough, Summerhall Arts
Summerhall Arts supports opportunity, inclusivity and accessibility and develops emerging and early career artists, providing a safe, inclusive and accessible base for creatives to play with form and find a voice.
