Story
Sue Wymer sadly passed away on Tuesday 21st March 2023 at St Mary's Hospice, where she was receiving end of life care, following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Sue was a much-loved member of the Cartmel Peninsula area, giving her time and love selflessly to the children, churches and community. During Sue's time in the hospice, she was fortunate to rest in the hospice's brand new and only cuddle bed. This is is a special bed which is designed to extend so that patient's loved ones can have a cuddle, providing comfort at such a difficult time in a person's life.
As the hospice currently only has one cuddle bed, Sue's wish was to fundraise for a second cuddle bed so that more families and loved ones could benefit from this facility. Sue's very good friend Rach, shared a conversation with Nicole, the year 5/6 teacher at Allithwaite School, where Sue expressed her desire for the hospice to have a second cuddle bed. Those who know Sue well, know that you daren't say no to Sue. So, here we are now, asking you for your kind donation so that Sue's final wish could be fulfilled and a second cuddle bed can be purchased for St Mary's Hospice.
