Story
Stuart School of Business students compete each year in a variety of business competitions.
Stuart School of Business is a global leader in bridging technology and business, offering a distinctive education that trains students to become outstanding professionals in economics, finance, analytics, marketing, business, public administration, operations, and management, with a history of curricular and scholarly innovation spanning 125 years of business education at Illinois Tech.
Below are some of our notable student competitions:
CFA Institute Research Challenge:
Stuart students have won the Chicago local competition in nine of the last 12 years, besting area rivals such as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Northwestern University, and DePaul University. Three of those teams advanced to the Americas Region Finals, with one going on to compete in the global finals.
CME Group University Trading Challenge:
2022 Stuart team Best Hawk placed sixth out of 498 teams globally and third among 320 teams from the U.S. in the competition
Curiosity Cup:
SSB Hawks, a team of three Stuart students in the M.S. in Marketing Analytics program, achieved the ninth-highest score in the 2023 Curiosity Cup, which drew 52 teams from 16 countries. The Stuart team’s score just missed the threshold required to advance to the finals.
Google Online Marketing Challenge:
Google recognizes the most outstanding teams globally as Google Ads Top Marketers, an achievement won by Stuart teams in 2020 and 2021.
