Story
Wegeners Granulomatosis (GPA or Granulomatosis with polyangiitis) is a very rare condition. There are often delays in the diagnosis because it is overlooked by clinicians, and its treatments have so far been simply borrowed from cancer. Donations to the Wegeners Trust are therefore proving particularly effective in furthering our understanding of the condition and of potential treatments.
Professor DCruz and his team run the Vasculitis Clinic within the Louise Coote Lupus Unit at St Thomas Hospital and over the last twenty years have accumulated vast clinical experience of Wegeners granulomatosis (GPA), which informs the team in prioritising our research efforts.
