The aim of our new Fund is to support local communities which are continuing to experience ongoing life challenges, by enabling vital projects via charities, community groups and social enterprises.

The priority areas of Strengthening Worcestershire include support with cost-of-living, reducing loneliness and isolation and helping people stay safe and well in their communities.

Funded projects could include community fridges/food banks; setting up/expanding local social groups; or training staff/volunteers to deliver advice and support to disadvantaged groups.

Strengthening Worcestershire is offering an exciting match funding opportunity for the county's donors - whether individuals or organisations - to get involved and show their support for our local communities.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters the Fund has already raised £150,000 with every £1 donated matched 1:1 by Worcestershire County Council.

By November, we need to raise a further £50,000 in order to hit our ambitious target. With the help of local donors, by November we will aim to have £200,000 to distribute to local people where it is really needed just before Christmas.

We have already received applications from 60 community groups for the available funding, so we know there are huge needs out there; by raising £200,000 we will do our best to support as many of these community projects as possible.

By making a donation, businesses and individuals will double their money, so maximising the available funding. (Remember - individual donors can also gift aid their contribution, adding an additional 25% to the fund - and businesses can benefit from tax breaks).

This means we will be able to double our reach to people who really need our support and double the impacts of this amazing programme!

All donors will be offered the opportunity to be listed on our website and engage with our funded projects. We will also hold an event to celebrate the campaign and its successes in '25/26.
