Story
Street Change Glasgow is Glasgow's Alternative Giving campaign supporting those in the city who are begging or rough sleeping, or who are at risk of these activities.
Its a citywide response and the first of its kind in Scotland - providing a quick and simple way for people to donate - via our QR codes and Just Giving page. Rough sleeping is rising worryingly this Winter. To support people who are begging or rough sleeping - or are at risk, we need to think differently and provide a platform for people to give differently.
Your generous donations go into a central pot - accessed rapidly by front-line support workers in Glasgow, who assist people who are begging or rough sleeping. The fund is used to purchase warm clothing and footwear, food and essentials, as well as supporting people with utility bills, travel to appointments or to return to their family, and much more!
Launched by Simon Community Scotland, Street Change Glasgow has been created in partnership with Glasgow City Mission, The Marie Trust, Lodging House Mission, the Glasgow City Council's Begging Strategy, industry, as well as those with lived experience of begging and rough sleeping. All partners are working towards one common goal - Street Change!
We know that People Make Glasgow and by involving everyone - citizens, communities, businesses, and organisations, we can create Street Change together. It takes a whole city. We need you to help us eradicate begging and rough sleeping in Glasgow.
This is your opportunity to truly change lives!
