Story
Strathpeffer is a vibrant village in the Scottish Highlands. However, years of neglect resulted in nearly all of our old play park being removed by the Highland Council. We are now left with one old toddler swing set (see picture), for a community of over 1,200 residents.
We have entered a new chapter! The park is now owned by our community. We have planning permission for a new childrens play park, and have already installed drainage, foundations and an all-ability path network. We have also secured almost £130,000 towards the new play equipment, installation and safety surface. We need another £6,000 to complete the order and get the equipment installed later this summer, and of course, the more we raise the more amazing equipment we can include in this first phase.
This is the result of over ten years hard work by many people in our community. We hope the play park will make Strathpeffer and surrounding areas a better place to live and make our village more attractive to visitors, who support our local businesses.
Thank you for helping get this first phase over the line. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated.
This project is delivered by the Strathpeffer Residents' Association (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation SC046287) on behalf of our community.
