Story
St Petrock's is Exeter's local homelessness charity based in Cathedral Yard. This is a beautiful city, but it sadly also has one of the highest levels of homelessness in the country which has roughly doubled in the past 12 months.
This Christmas, as every year, we will be providing a full Christmas lunch for all our clients on the big day, along with gifts to show that they are valued and cared for.
But we do so much more than offer some seasonal good cheer. We are here all year round, providing food and drinks twice a day to people who are homeless, providing clothing and laundry, showers, sleeping bags, help to access healthcare and mental health support, assistance to find housing or claim benefits, and so much more. In addition, we also provide accommodation for people with nowhere to call home, and are actively looking to purchase more properties in the coming months.
This Christmas, things are very challenging for all of us due to the economic crisis we are living through. But it is especially hard for those with nowhere to call home.
St Petrock's receives over 70 per cent of its funding from the community. Each day were humbled by the generosity of local residents, faith organisations and businesses. However, the challenge we now face is that sadly the demand for our services is growing - and if we're going to address this, we need to secure significantly more funding.
Thank you so very much for donating to help people without a home in Exeter. We really do appreciate it.
