Story
Christmas food donations are slightly different this year due to the latest government restrictions, and consequently we have set up a Festive Food Fund so that we can purchase essential food items on your behalf.
During the current lockdown across Chichester and Arun, we are delivering fresh food parcels to 32 rough sleepers temporarily housed in self-catering accommodation, and 53 people either vulnerably housed, sofa surfing or in supported accommodation. For those still on the streets, winter is life threatening, and so we provide access to breakfast, lunch and evening meals at our day hubs, along with supplies of camping food packs that are an immediate source of hot food.
Our Hostels in Chichester and Bognor Regis house up to 40 people, so our shopping lists are rather large, with a need for fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy produce, meat and fish a constant challenge.
We are welcoming donations to our Festive Food Fund via JustGiving so that we can continue delivering fresh food and essential provisions to keep these homeless and vulnerable housed people throughout West Sussex fed and nourished during the harsh winter months.
This year has been particularly challenging for everyone, and we are ever thankful for the many Stonepillow supporters for their ongoing donations despite their own personal circumstances.
Thank you for your Christmas kindness.
