Story
Add Cegin y Bobl to your Christmas list – and help us put life-changing cooking skills back in everyone’s hands. With your support, we can bring transformational, hands-on food workshops to even more parents, families and communities in Wales.
£16 could fund a parent or child to join an inspiring family cook-club session.
£38 could fund a day of hands-on learning for a child in our schools programme.
£226 could support a child through a 6-week Food Discovery course, to discover a world of food cooked from scratch.
£2,500 could give up to 15 people a place on our 4-day Food Leadership course, training leaders to make change happen in their communities.
We’ve seen how teaching people to cook from scratch can change lives. In our first year alone, we’ve trained more than 1,000 people across Carmarthenshire, giving them the confidence and know-how to create nutritious, affordable meals.
People like Lisa* , who is now more willing to try new foods and is interested in helping with cooking at home.
Or Ben*, who thinks that Cegin y Bobl’s 6 week course has "changed my life". He’s now cooking Sunday dinner with his parents.
Or Llyr* who now prefers the homemade chicken nuggets he cooked up with our chefs: “The way they make it is just astonishing — and when I eat it … the taste in my mouth!”
Or Nerys*, who’s amazed by the impact of our course on her daughter. “My daughter is always totally against trying new food, but she was excited to try the bean stew she helped prepare and kept going back for more sweet potato. She even tried a raw onion!”
As a registered charity, we’re rooted in Wales, running practical workshops led by passionate chefs from the Welsh hospitality world. From school cookery sessions and adult courses to family cook-alongs and community feasts, we’re using food to improve health, build confidence, and create lasting change.
We’re working towards a future where everyone can feed themselves delicious, nutritious food.
