Story

As the UK's specialist health university, St George's is in a unique position to carry out essential research into coronavirus. Research projects are underway to understand the science of Covid-19, informing the development of new diagnostics, new treatments and a vaccine. Our experts are also influencing public health policy and providing evidence-based information and advice to front-line healthcare practitioners.

While this work is progressing, we need further support to accelerate and broaden our research, with the ultimate aim to save lives.

Through our St George's Coronavirus Action Fund, we are seeking philanthropic gifts to help us develop our specialist research environment and equip our experts to respond to the current emergency and continue their work to improve health.

With £1,000 the University could expand the resources for learners globally on its online courses educating health professionals in managing Covid-19. £60,000 could fund a postdoctoral researcher in immunology, virology or bioinformatics for a year to advance a coronavirus research project.

If you would like to contribute towards supporting the University in all its efforts, please donate now to the Coronavirus Action Fund online.
