Story
Step Up For Isabel is a walking challenge for anyone who is passionate about staying active and supporting local hospice care.
We’re asking you to raise funds for the vital palliative care that Isabel Hospice provides by committing to walking 100 miles in one month, from January 15th - to February 12th 2024. That roughly equates to 8000 steps a day!
Did you know that on average, an Isabel Hospice nurse walks 8000 steps per shift?
If you think you can keep up with our nurses, and want to help support the essential care they provide, simply sign up and walk, jog, run or wheel a total of 100 miles this January to take part!
You choose how to complete your 100 miles - in the gym, while walking the dog, or just on your daily commute - it’s totally up to you!
Whether you want to get fit for the new year, or you’re already an avid walker, everyone is welcome to take part and you can expect support from Isabel Hospice throughout your whole journey.
We’ll supply resources with creative ideas of how to get your steps in, fundraising tips, suggested routes and invite you to our Facebook group where you and your fellow participants can share their progress.
Simply set up your JustGiving page and start collecting donations. A minimum fundraising target of £50.00 is required to cover the cost of your Challenge Kit, this includes:
⁃ A branded Isabel Hospice T-Shirt
⁃ A Step Up For Isabel resource guide.
Why not kick start your fundraising by making a suggested donation of £5.00?
By taking part in Step Up For Isabel, you’ll not only benefit from the multitude of health benefits associated with regular walking such as improving mental health, lowering blood pressure and increasing fitness levels. You’ll also be making an immeasurable difference to the lives of our patients and their families.
