Story
The World Bank estimates that by 2030 up to two thirds of the world's population could live with fragility, conflict and violence. Even now conflict drives 80% of all humanitarian needs.
Over the past year we have seen major outbreaks of conflict all over the world, this is only estimated to get worse. Peacebuilders are needed now more than ever.
From 16-18 September, get involved in our challenge and take your own Steps to Peace. We work directly with people living amidst conflict to stop war and prevent violence. You can raise vital funds to support these peacebuilders around the world.
'I wanted to support a charity that has peacebuilding at the heart of what they do and I'm proud to have raised money for such a fantastic and inspiring organisation.' Matt Cummins, Ran the Brighton Marathon
What could your donations do:
All money raised through this challenge will be going directly to our Peacebuilding Response Fund to provide flexible funding for peacebuilders to adapt and respond when crisis strikes.
- £50 could provide training to 30 young people in northeast Nigeria helping them to anticipate insurgent attacks and prevent violence from breaking out.
- £500 could be used to support dialogue between community leaders and armed groups in the Central African Republic leading to the signing of a local peace agreements.
