Story

2022 marks our 40th Anniversary of providing care and support to thousands of people across Lincolnshire with life limiting or terminal illnesses. Help us celebrate this huge milestone by taking part in our Fire Walk on 19th March 2022.

A fire walk is the most inspirational journey you will ever undertake. It is as the name suggests: a bare foot walk over red-hot wood embers measuring around 800 degrees. No tricks, no special effects. Just you and the fire.

The decision to walk across the coals is dramatically life changing. Not because you have decided to fire walk, but because you have consciously decided not to let your fear inhibit your actions. All our transformation workshops are led by Cliff Mann, the founder of Time4Change and the most experienced fire walking instructor in Europe. Cliff has led thousands of people from all walks of life over hot coals during his twenty years as a fire walking instructor.

PLEASE NOTE:this event is open to those age (16+) and participants must be able to walk for 6 paces at a brisk rate unaided.

We have just over 150 places left available for this one of a life time challenge which can only be claimed by signing up to take part. To take part in the event, all participants will need to pay a £35 sign up fee, which will pay for your entry into the challenge alongside any additional organisational costs. Alongside your £35 sign up fee, we ask that you aim to try and fundraise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship for this event, which can be done through setting up a JustGiving page. The money that you raise in sponsorship money will be go towards helping us provide our hospice care.

How we will support:

Once you are registered, we will support you all the way up to and including the event itself. Not only will you receive your own cotton St Barnabas t-shirt to wear on the day, you will also be rewarded with a medal and certificate.

Lastly, you will be invited to be a part of our Adventure with St Barnabas private Facebook group where you will be able to meet likeminded people/talk about your challenge and be kept up to date with all ongoing challenges put on by the hospice.

How will your support help us?

2022 is our 40th year of providing care and support to the people of Lincolnshire, so this is a perfect way to celebrate and help us raise money to be able to continue doing this for many more years to come.

Your sponsorship money will make a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Your fundraising will help to ensure that St Barnabas Hospice can care for more patients and families near you, every day of the year.

By way of example, every £14.02 raised will enable one of our nurses to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
