Story
This lovely 19th Century church has been kept in good condition, but a recent survey has shown that there are some minor problems with the roof:
"The roof slopes are generally in good condition although a small number of broken tiles are noted"
and
"There are a small number of open mortar joints to the apex stones on the nave, chancel and organ chamber gables and re pointing should be carried out".
Although there are no major works to be done, a major expense will be the cost of scaffolding the affected areas. However in view of the increasing number of extreme storms we are experiencing due to global warming it would be good to make the roof sound again. In the last 18 months we have had to implement urgent repairs to the roof after two major storms caused water ingress into the church. This campaign seeks to raise funds to cover this very expensive item.
