Story

Help support our Clinical teams provide care and support to thousands of people across Lincolnshire with life limiting or terminal illnesses by taking part in our Fire Walk this year

A fire walk is the most inspirational journey you will ever undertake. It is as the name suggests: a bare foot walk over red-hot wood embers measuring around 800 degrees. No tricks, no special effects. Just you and the fire.

Daredevils can take on a glowing-hot challenge to support St Barnabas Hospice and participate in the charity's second-ever Fire Walk.

This is a great way to challenge yourself and raise money for our Hospice. It makes a really fun present as well, or as a teambuilding exercise for staff at your workplace. This can be booked for people aged 16 and over. *

Our Hospice annually provides care to over 12,000 patients across Lincolnshire. By participating in this challenge and raising money, you will be able to support dignified and compassionate care in your community.

We have just over 100 places left available for this one of a life time challenge which can only be claimed by signing up to take part. To take part in the event, all participants will need to pay a £30 sign up fee, which will pay for your entry into the challenge alongside any additional organisational costs. Alongside your £30 sign up fee, we ask that you aim to try and fundraise £85 in sponsorship for this event, which can be done through setting up a JustGiving page. The money that you raise in sponsorship money will be go towards helping us provide our hospice care.

How we will support:

Once you are registered, we will support you all the way up to and including the event itself. Not only will you receive your own cotton St Barnabas t-shirt to wear on the day, you will also be rewarded with a medal and certificate.

Lastly, you will be invited to be a part of our Adventure with St Barnabas private Facebook group where you will be able to meet likeminded people/talk about your challenge and be kept up to date with all ongoing challenges put on by the hospice.

How will your support help us?

Your sponsorship money will make a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Your fundraising will help to ensure that St Barnabas Hospice can care for more patients and families near you, every day of the year.

By way of example, every £18.84 raised will enable one of our nurses to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
