Story
25% of all homeless people in Scotland are between the ages of 16 and 25 - a shocking statistic, with many young people facing uncertainty and worry, whether sleeping rough, on sofas or in hostels. Covid-19 is also creating more risk to young people than ever before. At the Foyer we aim to put an end to youth homelessness in the North East and we provide a range of support services to tackle this issue.
In recent years we've supported organised Sleep Outs to raise awareness and much needed funds to help tackle youth homelessness. Given the restrictions we face this year on large social gatherings, we've taken a different approach, and in partnership with End Youth Homelessness, we're championing a STAY:UP challenge that will run from 8pm on Friday 9th October until 8am on Saturday 10th October.
As always, we are so very grateful for the support we receive when we run these events..... and this year is no different. We'd very much love for as many of you as possible to support this challenge and help us raise as much as we possibly can, so that we can help put an end to youth homelessness!
You can take on the challenge individually, or with colleagues and we'll be on hand to provide ideas and activities to keep you all awake for the night. We're hoping that by participating in this, we'll not only receive donations and support, but that our event will also help raise the profile of The Foyer and the much needed, vital services we provide.
THE CHALLENGE: Stay up all night
