Story

Teams from across the rail industry are taking on a virtual ‘Station to Station’ Challenge, in support of the Railway Benefit Fund.

From 22 April to 13 May, the teams listed below will work together to walk or run over 2,000 miles.

Amaro, Avanti West Coast, Clemtech, Cross Country Trains, Engauged, Freightliner, Furrer + Frey, Porterbrook, RBF, RIA, RSSB, Railpen and VTG Rail

Team members track their real-world activity along a virtual route in a step challenge app, which sees them move along the map of the UK, calling at key station milestones along the way.

Starting at Inverness, we will make our journey around the country, calling at: Aberdeen, Edinburgh Waverly, Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester Piccadilly, Nottingham, Norwich, London Liverpool Street, London Blackfriars, Brighton, Southampton Central, Salisbury, Exeter St Davids, Penzance, Bristol Temple Meads, Cardiff Central, Holyhead, Crewe, Liverpool Lime Street, Preston, finishing at Glasgow Central.

The event will raise vital funds for RBF which has seen demand for its services nearly triple in the past five years. In 2023 over 500 applications were received resulting in more than 1,000 railway people receiving direct financial support and many more receiving advice and signposting.

Thank you for supporting these amazing teams to complete their challenge.
