Story
Help those who help us.
The SASH staff hardship fund has been established to help staff facing urgent financial hardship, through making one off grants of up to £1,000.
These grants are (only) available to people employed by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, who are facing urgent financial need. They are 100% funded by your donations, so every penny raised will help someone very directly.
The fund has been established thanks to the kind support of consultants at SASH, many of whom made a donation in 2021 to help support the welfare of their colleagues.
To allow the fund to continue to help staff, we need to continue to raise funds for grants.
Donations to this page are held specificaly in the hardship grants fund, and will directly help NHS staff in financial hardship.
You can make a one off donation on this page, or email us at sash.charity@nhs.net if you would like to set up a monthly donation, to help to make the fund sustainable. Otherwise the hardship fund will close when available funds are exhausted.
Alongside the urgent hardship grants, the charity is working with the Trust's people directorate to ensure that all applicants are also put in contact with other organisations who can offer meaningful longer term help beyond our urgent help.
A nurse who recently received our first hardship grant said:
I cant express how thankful I am. You have no idea how much this will help me. Thank you does not seem enough.
I am so grateful. Thank you again for everything, it means so much
Thank you for your support
