A Sponsored Pilgrimage - Glastonbury to Wells
The Sponsored Pilgrimage has been a very special way to support Wells Cathedral and St Margaret's Hospice Care, two landmarks of Somerset life - thank you.
On Saturday 25 July, the Dean and members of the community made a Pilgrimage from Glastonbury to Wells, raising funds to help Wells Cathedral and St Margaret's Hospice continue their important work in our communities.
The walkers were sponsored by family and friends and the wider community sponsored the Dean and members of the clergy. The day was wet but the Pilgrimage worked its magic and a sense of common purpose and common determination surfaced, and a strong sense of achievement was felt as the walkers arrived at the Cathedral.
More than £11,000 was raised which has made an important difference - both the Cathedral and the Hospice face very real financial challenges as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Cathedral and Hospice thank everyone who has supported and everyone who made the Pilgrimage.
The Pilgrimage fundraising has now concluded, however if you would like to support Wells Cathedral's Bounce Back Appeal, more information can be found via this link, along with details about the different ways of supporting: please click here to visit the website
