Story

Alone, frightened and living off scraps from the street. The light and happiness in Missy's eyes a stark contrast from the bleakness of the pavements she used as a home.

No history. No idea where she came from. That's how Missy was found, when one local dog warden stepped in.

Despite searching for several days and nights, no one stepped forward to claim her. The only clue we had to Missy's past, was the evidence that she had given birth several times before. Leading us all to wonder whether she was used for breeding and then abandoned when she was no longer needed.

Despite her blurry past, we believe Missy has a bright future ahead of her. Since arriving at Trindledown, Missy has shown nothing but the purest of love and affection, but her hardship isn't over yet. Two days ago, the vet discovered a sizeable lump in her stomach and feared the worst. Today Missy went in to be spayed to avoid a future of her having to give more puppies, unfortunately we received the news they've had to remove Missy's spleen in order to take out a tumour and we now need to run some tests to see how far this may have spread. Though she may be more comfortable with this mass now removed, it does not mean she is out of the woods yet although we remain hopeful.

We believe Missy has a happy ending ahead of her and she deserves to spend her remaining years with a wonderful and loving family. As lovely as our rescue is, Missy deserves a home, with a bed she can call her own and people she can call family. We don't know how, but Missy has come through everything with a massive smile and the biggest heart. She loves every single person, and dog, she meets and remains ever affectionate with our staff. Its Missy's time to enjoy life rather than be a machine for money.

Due to the unexpected cost of Missy's much needed surgery, we need to raise £2,500 to cover the spay and operation with further testing. Please help us support this incredible dog. We just know she has so much love left to give and plenty of life left to live. Missy's life has only just started to change for the better. Lets help her get the happy ending and the home she so rightfully deserves!

*UPDATE*

As of the beginning of August, we have had the wonderful news from our vets, that Missy's spleen is completely cancer free!! We are still waiting for further results of other tests but we are incredibly pleased to have received this news!
