Story

The Spitfire 10K will return in 2021 to the RAF Museum London and RAF Museum Cosford. It will also be held virtually giving runners from all over the UK, and across the world, the opportunity to run for their Battle of Britain pilot.

Our amazing fundraisers raised over £8,000 in sponsorship in 2020, in addition to their entry fees. We are setting our sights high for 2021 with a target of £10,000 - £1,000 for every kilometre they will be running!

Your fundraising enables the RAF Museum, a registered Charity, to tell the inspiring stories of RAF personnel, just like The Few the courageous Battle of Britain Pilots and Crew who fought in the skies above Britain in 1940.

Every donation really does makes a difference:

£10 will buy equipment for our Collections Team to protect our objects when being handled

£30 pays for the materials needs for a STEM learning session to be delivered to local school children

£50 provides outreach materials so we can take the Museum to those who cant visit our sites

£100 can buy valuable tools needed by our volunteers who help to maintain our collection

£500 pays for resourcing and delivery of ten Wartime Classroom workshops for schools

£1,000 pays for a new piece of Perspex for an aircraft windscreen

With your support, we will be able to continue to share the RAF Story, past, present and future.

The 15 September, the end of the Virtual Spitfire 10K, marks the anniversary of the Battle fought in the skies over Britain from 10 July to 31 October 1940. The RAF played a crucial part in the defeat of the Luftwaffe in the famous Battle of Britain, preventing the Nazis from invading Britain, the last democratic stronghold in Europe.
