Around one in five of those leaving the military each year do so wounded, injured or sick and may need support. The challenges they face are changing, and the pressure on our services is increasing.
A team of 24 riders from Goldman Sachs' Global Investment Research division in London, led by the Goldman Sachs Veterans Network, are racing, relay-style, on Watt bikes over a total of 12 hours. Competing for greatest aggregate distance cycled, your team's amazing physical and fundraising efforts will help support veterans in chronic pain and give our wounded Heroes and their families a second chance at life.
Did you know that every donation of $50 or more will be doubled by Goldman Sachs? That's just £45 from you that could become £90 to support Veterans and their families with physical and psychological needs. [Search for the charity using 'osteo' and select Centre for osteopathic research and excellence (ID 33090)]
Your £45 could pay for an instructor-led rehabilitation session on a dry ski slope, helping a Wounded Veteran to rebuild confidence. The matched £45 could fund one session of Osteopathy, enabling a Veteran to manage their pain and prevent further injury.
£100 could pay for accommodation for a family member to visit a wounded loved one in hospital. £300 could fund lifechanging mentoring support for Veterans starting up their own business.
£1000 could fund research into pain management for Veterans in chronic pain, helping future generations of wounded Veterans live pain-free lives.
The last Spinathon raised £50,000 and this year we are aiming to beat that total.
The support of the people like you has enabled Help for Heroes to help more than 22,200 men and women. Plus, your support has helped CORE (The Centre for Osteopathic Research and Excellence) to offer affordable Osteopathy to over 1000 people living with chronic pain since launching in 2017.
Every pound raised will be split equally amongst the two charities with 100% of funds going to help Veterans.
Please pledge what you can to support our Spinathon appeal and help make a real difference to the lives of Veterans and their families.
