Sparkle together for Ashgate Hospice

Come together to sparkle in support of Ashgate Hospice on Saturday 28 June 2025. Help raise money to help the hospice continue providing specialist care to patients and those important to them.

“Kind” and “devoted” father, Mark Grocott, was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis – a chronic lung disease – back in 2009.

After years of living with the condition, he started receiving palliative care in January 2023, before his condition worsened later in the year.

Mark, from Shirland, received care at our Inpatient Unit later that year before he died on 29 October, aged 74.

His daughter, Hayley Grocott, said her dad received “second-to-none” care from the hospice’s team in the final days of his life.

Hayley and her family were among those who took part in our Sparkle Night Walk last year in his memory.
