Story
Mental health needs more than medicine. The right environment is crucial to healing and recovery for those in crisis no different from an MRI for a cancer patient or a ventilator for someone struggling to breathe. Recovery is built day by day from better moments, better environments, and better care.
Southlake's Mental Health Program has been pushed to the limit. Many people underestimate how important space is to mental health care. We recently completed construction on Southlakes new 12-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit, giving 400 additional patients a year the privacy, peace, and security to support their healing journey. Work continues on an outdoor patio accessible from the Adult Inpatient Unit to provide patients safe access to fresh air and natural light. These spaces will be life-changingand life-savingfor our mental health care patients, no different from an MRI for a cancer patient or a ventilator for someone struggling to breathe.
Community fundraising for our Mental Health Program will allow Southlake to continue to expand and improve our capabilities for patients in need and provide comprehensive care, in supportive and specially designed spaces, at every stage of a patients ongoing treatment.
