Story
The coronavirus outbreak is an exceptional event that will have an immediate and long-lasting impact on local individuals and families right across the borough. Additionally, these are extremely challenging times for the projects and charities that support the most vulnerable in Southend-on-Sea. They need financial help to meet the increasing demand for their services.
Southend Emergency Fund, is the one central fund, collecting donations to help people in need across the town.
Over the coming days, weeks and months we will channel your donations through the network of local charities and projects which work in the heart of our communities. Making sure those families and individuals that need help get the support they so desperately need. We can only do this because of your kindness and generosity.
Please consider running a fundraising activity - money raised is already making a difference.
The Southend Emergency Fund for the people by the people
Our supporters are launching fundraising campaigns to raise money on our behalf. By fundraising for us, you will support the charities that help those who are most in need because of coronavirus. Sally Willcock, organiser of the garden plant sale, said:
It felt amazing to raise £300 for Southend Emergency Fund. They are providing vital support to people across our town and Im proud to be a part of it.
Does this sound like something you could to do?
There are many ways you can fundraise, it can be challenging, fun or creative. Here are some ideas, but why not come up with your own fundraising ideas.
A sponsored walk, run or cycle.
Maybe the length of the pier and back again 7 times in one week?
Social distancing olympics
A plant, cake or yard sale.
A marathon gaming session.
An online quiz night or auction.
A raffle.
Shaving your head (if youre feeling brave!)
