Story
Each year, Derby City and South Derbyshire CAMHS hosts a World Mental Health Day event, which is held at one of our CAMHS bases, Temple House, Derby. Over the past 6 years, our open day has been extremely successful, with lots of people coming along and engaging with us throughout the day. We speak to local services, schools, and the general public about our own internal CAMHS services, as well as other local mental health support available in the local area. In addition to raising awareness for mental health, we provide guests and stallholders with useful connections and signposting to areas where young people can seek support.
This year, CAMHS will be running another event on October 10th. There will be a raffle, a bake sale, workshops, activities, and a wide range of stalls from different organisations and local services etc. The money we raise from our raffle and bake sale will this year go to our CAMHS Participation Team (which values lived experience involvement and co-production from our service users and their families). The team require funds to keep the support groups, activities going and to buy much needed resources for young people and their carers. Unfortunately, we are very limited on funds, so we would be very grateful if you could make a small donation to help make this day as successful as possible and bring in as many people as possible to raise awareness for mental health and challenge the stigma that often surrounds it.
