Story

Dear Friends & Supporters,

Many of you have called, emailed or messaged to ask about how we are coping with COVID-19 and the impact it has had on our organisation. Firstly, let me say thank you for the outpouring of support we've received. It's always a heart-warming feeling to know that we have so many incredible supporters.

Last week, in light of the Coronavirus, we made the difficult decision to offer a takeaway-only food service to guests rather than their usual sit-down meal. As most of you know, we take a huge amount of pride in the fact that we offer not just a warm meal to our guests, but also a safe and warm space off the streets for them for the hours they're with us. As we considered the health risks to our homeless guests, our volunteers, and our staff, we decided that it would be prudent to only offer a takeaway food service for the foreseeable future.

We know that this may be a difficult time financially for many, but for our guests, the food we serve may be the only meal they have all day. Just today we were informed that an additional four organisations that feed the homeless in Central London have had to cease operations. We need your help more than ever.

Understandably, we have lost many volunteers at this time. We have also lost a large amount of funding and donations. Unfortunately, we expect that to be the case for an extended period of time.

We're therefore launching an emergency funding appeal to make sure we can continue to operate each day with very little disruption for our guests. These are truly unique, uncertain and anxious times, but it gives us a tremendous feeling of comfort to know that so many of you have offered to help us get through this. Any amount makes a difference, so if you're able to donate, please do .
