Story
In 2020 alone, 6.6 million people fled Syria, making it the country which generated the highest number of forcibly displaced people that year.
As such, the journey from Aleppo in Syria to the Greek island of Lesvos is one which is made all too often. In recognition of all those forced to flee their homes, and all those forced to live in inhumane conditions upon their arrival in Europe, SolidariTee want to collectively travel 1201km, the same distance as this journey, during our 2021 week of action.
Student volunteers from all across the world will be joining together to walk, run, or cycle part of this journey throughout the week, with every penny raised being used to fund the grants which SolidariTee has pledged to 6 NGOs providing vital legal aid to refugees and asylum seekers in Greece.
Please send fundraising@solidaritee.org.uk an email should you wish to learn more or have any questions! Thank you so much for your support of the charity and our student volunteers who, despite lockdown preventing them from even meeting most of their teammates, are showing up each and every day to fight for refugee rights - it truly means a great deal.
