Help My Daughter Sofia Achieve Her Dream of Walking: Support for Wheelchair, Physio, and Intensive Therapy

I’m reaching out to share our family’s journey and to ask for your support in helping my daughter, Sofia, overcome the challenges of Cerebral Palsy and achieve her dream of walking.

Who is Sofia?

Sofia is my brave and joyful 8-year-old daughter, and despite all odds, she has an unwavering dream: to walk on her own one day. Born prematurely at 29 weeks, Sofia faced life-threatening challenges from the very beginning. Diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy, epilepsy, developmental delays, and limitations in all four limbs, she struggles daily to move and engage with the world around her. Every moment of her day requires my support, as I help her navigate her world with love and determination.

As a single mother, providing Sofia with the resources she needs to improve her mobility has become increasingly difficult. That’s why I’m reaching out for your help to ensure that Sofia receives the treatments and equipment she needs to move closer to her dream of walking.

Why We Need Your Help

We are raising funds to support Sofia in gaining more independence and improving her mobility through these essential items:

A Hoggi Wheelchair – A specialized wheelchair will allow Sofia the freedom to explore the world more independently and comfortably.

Private Physiotherapy Sessions – Sofia needs intensive physiotherapy to strengthen her muscles and improve her movement control.

Intensive Therapy at the Olinek Center in Poland – This renowned therapy center specializes in helping children like Sofia, and intensive sessions there would be life-changing for her.

Our Story

Sofia’s journey has been one of immense bravery and resilience. Born at 29 weeks, she spent over two months in neonatal intensive care. After the first two weeks, our hopes for a healthy future were dashed when Sofia suffered a massive brain hemorrhage. This led to her diagnosis of cerebral palsy, affecting her ability to move and control her muscles.

In addition to Sofia’s challenges, our family faced another devastating blow. In May 2016, my husband, Sofia’s father, was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer, which had already spread. He passed away just two months later, leaving us in unimaginable grief. Tragically, he never knew he was going to be a father again, as I discovered I was pregnant with our son just after his passing. Though our son has been a source of strength and joy, the loss of my husband has been a profound and ongoing challenge.

As a single mother, raising two children on my own has been both a challenge and a privilege. Since Sofia’s birth, I have dedicated myself entirely to her treatments, seeking help from specialists and therapy centers in Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, and Belgium. Thanks to the tireless work of her doctors and therapists, Sofia has made incredible progress. But to continue her journey toward independence, we now need your help.

How You Can Make a Difference

Every donation to this page will directly support Sofia’s journey toward independence. Whether large or small, each contribution brings us closer to affording her wheelchair, physiotherapy, and the specialized treatments she needs. Just last year, a small donation helped Sofia complete a vital therapy session, marking a huge step forward in her progress.

Let’s Give Sofia the Gift of Movement

With your help, Sofia can continue to pursue her dream of walking, and I can ensure she gets the best chance at a more independent and fulfilling life. Please consider donating or sharing this post with others—every bit of support, no matter how small, means the world to us.

Thank you for caring and for helping Sofia take a step closer to her dream.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Vika
