The YMCA is the largest provider of housing for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness in King County. Each night, the Y Social Impact Center houses 450 youth and young adults who would otherwise be living on the streets. Additionally, we provide wrap-around services including behavioral health, employment training and much more. Now, more than ever, we need committed donors like you.
34% of kids aging out of foster care become homeless within one year.
53% of homeless youth are kids of color. King County is about 70% white, so the disparity is huge.
27% are LGBTQIA who may find that the streets are the one place they are accepted.
$100 can help with essentials like hygiene supplies and other essential household items as individuals move into a shelter location.
$250 can support our WAGES job training program ensuring that young people have the skills necessary to enter the workforce.
$500 can support a month’s rent in transitional housing for a young person leaving the streets.
