Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation's Smoke-Free for September
September is here, and with it comes an opportunity to make a significant impact on our health and the health of our loved ones. Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation invites you to take part in our "Smoke-Free for September" campaign. This month-long challenge is not just about quitting smoking or vaping — it's about supporting each other in the journey toward a healthier, smoke-free life.
Why Smoke-Free for September?
Lung cancer is the biggest cancer killer, claiming more lives than breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancers combined. Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer, but the good news is that quitting smoking can significantly reduce your risk of ever getting the disease.
By staying smoke-free for September, you can help protect your lungs, improve your overall health, and support the fight against lung cancer. And research shows that those who are able to go smoke-free for a month, are more likely to quit for good!
How You Can Make a Difference
We’re calling on you to take up the challenge and commit to a smoke-free September. Whether looking to quit yourself or just wanting to support others, your participation can make a huge difference. Here’s how you can get involved:
1. **Register to Stay Smoke-Free:** Make a personal commitment to avoid smoking or vaping for the entire month of September. Click the link if you haven't already registered with us Register here

“It’s Never Too Late to Quit” - Sarah’s Story
"After smoking for over 20 years, I decided to quit smoking last year. It wasn’t easy, but with the support of my family and friends, I made it through. Quitting smoking has changed my life in ways I never imagined. I have more energy, I breathe easier, and I feel more in control of my health. This year, I’m sponsoring my brother in his journey to quit. Together, we can do this!" - Sarah
“Supporting Each Other” - Mark and Emma’s Story
"My wife Emma and I have always been there for each other through thick and thin. This September, we’re taking the Smoke Free challenge together. By supporting each other, we know we can beat this habit and improve our health. We’re asking our family and friends to sponsor us, not just to motivate us, but to help fund critical research in the fight against lung cancer.
