Story
The Hull Vault is a library of community assets that Charites and voluntary groups from across the region can use to run fantastic events, fundraise, deliver activities and do great things in the communities.
The equipment includes giant games, sound systems, laptops, cameras, gazebos, tables chairs and lots of other items that are stored, maintained and managed by our caretaker Keith.
The service is now in its eighth year and has already supported charities and groups with over 2500 orders. They really appreciate what we do because it saves them money in purchasing equipment, storing and maintaining it, as well as giving them the opportunity to try something new with our library of over 100 different products.
Last year was our busiest yet with 468 orders, that saved charities nearly £100,000 in hire charge savings alone.
We loaned out the extension leads so many times that the total length was five time the height of the Burj Khalifa (The tallest building in the world) and we hired out enough catering urns to make over 3000 cups of tea.
Hull Vault currently supports over 250 charities and groups. Here is what some of them have to say about the service:
“We made £1,000 from using Smile Vault equipment for free” - Shell Soar – Health Tree Foundation
“For years, SMILE Vault's equipment has been crucial for our library, serving 1,500 attendees annually. Keith and the team provide excellent service, supporting our £20,000 yearly budget. Thanks for a decade of partnership” - Mandy Abdulla, Anlaby Park Community Library
“The Vault is essential for our Theatre Group, providing resources for events and fundraising. Its equipment has expanded our audience, and we appreciate its reliability” - Sally Langton, Wilberfoss Amateur Theatre Society
“We borrowed a screen and projector for a free course, enhancing attendees' experience in the process. We appreciate their assistance.” - Dorothy Parker - The Hull & East Yorkshire Community Counselling Service CIC
You can help us meet the needs of charities, groups and community organisations by providing a donation to the Hull Vault.
£10 could help us repair and maintain equipment ensuring its ready to do great things in the community
£50 could help us to purchase new items that charities have told would be good for us to hold.
Thank you in advance for your support.
