Story
Sheffield Music Hub’s mission of Inclusivity – to reach and deliver music education to as many of Sheffield’s Children and Young People as possible, regardless of age, abilities or where they come from. They strive to provide musical opportunities for all young people and their culture is one where a mix of children can come together, feel comfortable and confident to be themselves and sing or play music in a way that suits them.
Sheffield Music Hub is passionate about ensuring inclusivity is at the heart of all its activity. The Friends and Volunteers are supporting the hub’s mission and have therefore decided this year’s fund-raising target should focus on supporting their Inclusivity Strategy, which can be found at https://www.sheffieldmusichub.org/news/sheffield-music-hub-inclusion-strategy
Money raised will go towards but not exclusively:
• The purchase of steel pans, sticks, and stands so we can set up a weekly Steel Pan Group which will be accessible to all children. No members of the group will be required to have any previous musical experience to join this group.
• The funding of places on our Furthering Talent programme. Details can be found at https://www.sheffieldmusichub.org/news/furthering-talent
• The funding of free places in our music groups for children and young people in receipt of free school meals.
By supporting the Sheffield Music Hub’s mission, it will enable them to reach children and young people from all backgrounds. It will also bring about increased learning, participation and meaningful progression for all children and young people.
Your donation will support the Sheffield Music Hub in carrying out their mission of inclusivity and providing opportunities to change children and young people’s lives forever.
