Our firm is rooted in civil liberties, and we believe strongly that success is not just measured by financial performance or accolades, but also by how we can leave the world better than we found it. There are many ways in which we strive to achieve this. A large part of what we do is choosing a Charity of the Year to support through firm and external activities.

This year we have chosen to partner with St John's Hospice. Our choice is not only in recognition of the incredible work the charity performs, but also as the charity took care of our dear friend and colleague Russell Winn before his sad passing in 2022. All of us at SMB are very much looking forward to what we can achieve together with St John's Hospice.
