Story
For over 40 years, St Luke's Community Centre has been a second home to hundreds of vulnerable older people struggling with poverty, poor health and loneliness.
The Coronavirus crisis has forced St Luke's to close its doors to the public and everybody aged 70+ must now isolate at home for at least the next 12 weeks.
How desperate must this feel for those pensioners who are already struggling? So many rely on St Luke's to stay connected, to enjoy a hot meal, to help with shopping and, so importantly, for friendship and care.
Now, more than ever, St Luke's needs to support our older community. Despite the challenges, we are now delivering 3-course lunches to isolating pensioners homes. We have a telephone befriending scheme and we are distributing donated food.
But we need your help. St Luke's income has dropped significantly and to keep providing our front-line services we urgently need to raise as much funding as we can. Your donation will help us help those who really need it. Please help us by donating what you can.
