Balls To Homelessness Sleepout - 7th February 2020!
This sponsored Sleepout at The Abbey Stadium will raise funds for Wintercomfort a homeless charity based in Cambridge and Cambridge United Community Trust's programmes working with disadvantaged Children and Young People.
Wintercomfort supports men and women who are homeless or vulnerably housed by offering them vital welfare services and opportunities for learning and training. Set up by Henry Rothschild and a number of locally based people in 1990 by distributing food, blankets and sleeping bags from an old bus known as the blues bus. In 1991 they became a registered charity working in local churches, and in 1994 acquired its own premises Overstream House.
Cambridge United Community Trust is the charitable arm of Cambridge United Football Club. We use the power of sport and the brand of Cambridge United to have a positive impact on our local community. They place Cambridge United at the heart of a community where individuals respect each other and themselves, are empowered to maximise their potential and have the inspiration to fulfil this potential.
By taking part we ask that each participant raises a minimum of £100. There is no participation fee, sign up by emailing sam.gomarsall@cambridge-united.co.uk
So join us to sleep rough for ONE night and say BALLS TO HOMELESSNESS!
