Story
The Grantham Muslim Community Association - GMCA, comprising all Muslims who live in and around Sleaford since 1990, have commenced work on constructing a masjid in the town and request your generous financial support to complete this project.
The masjid, which can accommodate 200 worshippers is seen by the GMCA as a valuable contribution to foster a sense of belonging to a small community, which comprises largely of workers of modest means.
In September 2016, we started the construction of a masjid and have spent around £175,000 with the help of generous donations and Qard-e-Hasna (benevolent loans conforming to Islamic scriptures). We are still in need of another £150,000 to complete construction. In addition there is an outstanding Qard-e-Hasna of £50,000, taking the total requirement to £200,000. This humble appeal for your financial support comes from the people of Sleaford, who aspire to build for themselves a place of worship and focus for the community, and foster greater integration in multicultural Britain.
